Installation guide

This document mainly covers the installation and deployment of the AO.space open source version, and is mainly intended for end users with a development foundation. It supports one-click installation of the AO.space server on Windows, Linux, and macOS (Intel/M1) computers in the form of docker, and it needs to be used in conjunction with the AO.space App client. The platform uses the official platform of AO.space by default, and also supports user private deployment.

In order to meet the different needs of users, AO.space provides two installation methods:

First way

Install client + Deployment server

This method requires Install client and Deployment Server, and apply for join public beta. The activation is successful and successful Bind the device to start the experience. It is suitable for users who have experience in container installation. They can deploy the AO.space server on their personal devices and experience the functions and services of AO.space in depth.

Second way

Install client + Deployment server + Deployment platform

This method requires Install client, Deployment server and Deployment platform, and apply for join public beta. After successful activation and successful binding of the device, you can start the experience. It is suitable for users with experience in container installation. They can deploy the AO.space server on their personal devices and experience the functions and services of AO.space in depth.

Install client

AO.space client supports Android (Android 5.0 and above), iOS (iOS 12.0 and above) and Web.

There is no need to install the AO.space Web client. Open website Click to log in to AO.space and scan the QR code on the client to authorize the login.

Deployment server

Environment preparation

AO.space server supports two architectures: x86_64 and aarch64, and supports deployment on Windows (Win10 and above), Linux (Ubuntu 20.04 and above), macOS (11.7.5 and above), due to the use of end-to-end authorization and authentication , the binding operation requires the cooperation of the client.

Precautions

When binding the device, it is necessary to ensure that the computer and the mobile phone are in the same LAN. After the binding is successful, it is not necessary to be in the same LAN.
The activation code is valid for 24 hours, please obtain it again after it expires.
One mailbox can only activate one PC device. If you want to use more devices, please change the mailbox and apply again.

Deployment platform

If you want to deploy the platform privately, please refer to Platform Deployment Guide for deployment.

If you do not want to deploy the platform privately, this step can be ignored, and the official platform is used by default.

Summary

At this point, if the AO.space client and server have been installed, please ensure that the mobile phone and device are connected to the same network. Next, refer to the server deployment document apply public beta and Bind device chapters. After completing the device binding operation, you can start to experience the services and functions of AO.space.

If you deploy a platform privately, please fill in your private platform domain name when binding the device and initializing the space access channel. so that the Internet forwarding service is provided by your private platform, which is more secure and controllable.
